haiku 39

 the earth awakens
from a bitter frost
i am giddy with delight

i almost squealed with delight when i found these bulbs coming up from the ground.  they are the first bulbs i've ever planted, and i wanted to shout, "they came back! they came back!"  i can't wait to see them bloom.  these are the daffodils.

and blue hyacinth.

and the first wee wildflowers of the season.  oh i hope to snag a macro lens this year!

haiku 1021

frosted windowpanes
violently scraped away
by my denial

the weather has been in limbo here.  caught between late summer, fall, and early winter.  it's made me rather unmotivated to take pics for my october haiku challenge.  i finally decided to just write about how i really feel.  poppy talk is having a fall color challenge this week though, so maybe that will motivate me to take a few pretty pics.

haiku 118

plump plumed friend
perched outside my wintry windowpane
fat looks good on you

i'm a bit enamored with word usage.  specifically saying more with less.  haiku are so fun to me, but according to this article, slightly more complicated than i thought.  i'm not sure i got it right, but i enjoyed the process.
