Cocoa Daisy March!

Well, I have been struggling with the old blog lately.  I have a backlog of things that need posting.  It's that whole "you can't do everything" thing going on.  Spring Break is on the way though and warm weather is already here, so maybe I'll be more productive soon.

Here is one of my pages from the March Cocoa Daisy Kits.  I have lots more in the gallery.  I'll also attach my unboxing video below in case you're interested in a closer look at the product.

So far I've made 6 cards, 2 pocket pages, 2 layouts, and my DaisyDori, of course.  Hoping to squeeze out a few more projects before April arrives.

january cocoa daisy designer's challenge

This one was for the January Designer's Challenge over at Cocoa Daisy.  The prompt was to journal around a page element - a fun one.  Still proud of my boy and his Arrow of Light.  :)

You can see a couple of the other designers' takes on this challenge HERE.

top five layouts of 2015

it was really hard to pick five favorites from my layouts this year.  in the end i almost randomly chose them from the ones that really made me feel sentimental.  looking back at my year in paper has made me realize how much i really love this craft.  there is such an emotional connection with scrapbooking.

cocoa daisy: christmas parade 2014

i love seeing my boy in that crochet beard!  he reminds me so much of my brother!  I used that black patterned paper in the background a lot.  mostly i used it to look like little christmas trees, but for this layout, i flipped it over to look like little beards.  hee.

cocoa daisy: jigsaw puzzle layouts

i love making these sorts of layouts.  i call them my jigsaw puzzle layouts because i just gather all my little leftover bits and see how i can fit them together.

cocoa daisy: his and hers kitty layouts

The Cocoa Daisy reveal is going on right now!  These were made with my December planner add-on.

Speaking of the Cocoa Daisy planner . . . oh my, oh my, oh my!  I need this . . .

cocoa daisy: woc 2014

another cocoa daisy november spread.  this one's from boy scout webelo outdoor challenge 2014.  my baby just keeps growing up on me . . .

cocoa daisy: gatlinurg

i think this might be the first layout i've created in which all the photos were taken by my son.  he was on vacation in gatlinburg with his father and now has an iphone of his own.  yes, we've entered a whole new era.  it's good.

another layout with my cocoa daisy november kits.  gorgeous and awesome as usual!

cocoa daisy: november reveal "gathering"

last night was the reveal at cocoa daisy!  the november kits are called "gathering" and they are just lovely, per usual.  the color combo is a bit unexpected for this time of year which makes it absolutely refreshing.  it was another effortless month on the scrappy front.  i threw together three layouts and two project life pages in one day.  wowzas!  today i worked on my november daisydori planner.  i think it's time to tidy up now and then make a list of what else i want to create with it.  dfefinitely i will need more time with the kitty stamps.  definitely.

youtube: january/february project life flip through

i did it!  i finally finished up my january and february pages in my project life albums and made a little video!  please be kind, i have learned my lesson about talking, videoing, and flipping pages all at the same time.  once i get my march and april pages done, i will be sure and get my kid to help me video them!  :)

cocoa daisy: ober gatlinburg

my goodness!  it's a good thing i finally took the time to tidy up the photo files on my laptop.  i had completely forgotten to edit and upload this layout!  i believe it was with the september (or maybe even august) cocoa daisy kit.  and i can't even believe we're getting close to cold weather season again.  brrrrrrr.  nor can i believe that my baby's been a boy scout for months and months now.  time flies.  this was his last big trip with the cub scouts.  i remember being so proud of him for sticking to it in the skating rink even though it made him nervous and he didn't like it much at all.  he persevered.  then i was very thankful that he really took to the skiing and loved it lots.  what a great trip!  we sure did love our cub scout pack and we love our boy scout troop too, we just love scouting.  it's brought and keeps bringing us so many wonderful opportunities and great people.

cocoa daisy: october cuteness

if i had to pick just one word for the october cocoa daisy kits, it would be cute.  squealworthy cute.  i really piled it on with this layout too.  hee.  and i still have to make a "foxy selfie" layout this month.  fun times ahead!  :)

cocoa daisy: golden highlights

i absolutely love that christine includes golden highlights in the kits most months. they are a neutral that goes with everything, but still add a little sparkle to my projects.

cocoa daisy: flip that design upside down

these two layouts were made with the cocoa daisy august kit, "hemingway."  you know hemingway liked the sea, so it was perfect for scrapping our summer trip to florida.

i can't really explain it, but i've gotten into taking selfies lately.  maybe it's all that time i spend at the high school that's influencing me.

my cousin (i was born on her first birthday which makes us cousin twins) thought my selfie tips were hilarious, but also very helpful.

and now i have a tip for you.  both of these layouts use the same basic design.  i just flipped it upside down.  yep.  check out the photo and title placement, the background  papers, and some of the embellishments.  too fun and too easy.

cocoa daisy: cleaning fairy!

i think i may have actually found my cleaning fairy at long last.  my almost 12 year old has suddenly developed a burning desire to earn money for legos.  aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! i have plans for him this weekend.  ;)

and plans for more papercrafting!  i need to cut up a little more with september before october arrives.  this one is my favorite so far.  i love a good grid.  and bonus for you, the ditl kit with all those great grid making cards is still available at cocoa daisy!

it's a good day to shine!  this one's all from the cocoa daisy september DITL kit . . .
such great text graphics again this month!
