yay april reveal! the color scheme in this kit is extremely awesome. the patterned paper choices are just amazing. i really got into the patterned paper this month, using it for backgrounds on three of my four layouts. i've got two of those to share here today. you can see them all up on the site as well as the rest of the design team's inspiring work. i'll share the other two here eventually. one has a micro tutorial that i want to share and the other will be in the april gazette as part of this month's challenge to use the main kit + office supply tags.
remember when g made that stuffed snake out of vintage fabric swatches i brought home from jenni's? i included one of the fabric squares here plus a few buttons from my stash to mimic his little creatures in the photos. the rest of the page is the main kit plus a couple vintage items from the antiquarian kit (check and badge). the "man of the house" piece was salvaged from the chipboard frames product packaging. i also pulled that "flag" behind the main photo from a page in this month's mini-album kit. i stamped it with the exclusive chevron stamp from the main kit and then applied the dabber tip of a bottle of speckled egg paint here and there befroe stitching the edges.
this one is of g's cousin and a blue crab he caught for me last summer. i do love blue crab. i actually made both of these layouts at terena's crop last friday night. it was most fun, especially as i've discovered an addiction to her perfect pearls mist collection.
most everything on this one is from the artisan add-on. it includes that awesome doily stencil and a whole pack of those journaling cards that i used on the background. i also love the way the foam stamp set from the main kit and the tiny alpha set from the artisan kit work so beautifully together. fun fun kits. anxious to do a little more with them for updates on the 10th.
these are super cute!
