ms. pacman layout!

so a week or so ago i came up with a fun new challenge over at jbs mercantile and named it after the chomping ms. pacman of my childhood.  it's basically a stashbusting challenge with a specific recipe for the scrappy ingredients.  you then have to make one layout and two cards with the little kit you create.  you can read more about it here.  there's still time to get in on the fun too as the challenge doesn't end till april 20th.  and it is fun.  oh my.  i'm done with my first kit and about to make myself another as i'm between jbs mercantile kits now and going "shopping" in my stash sounds exciting at the moment.
i'm delighted with how my layout turned out.  aren't these little jbs chipboard houses so cute?  i painted them with chewing gum and then a few of them i added a little lemon drops smeared over the pink.  i think it gives them nice depth.  when the paint was dry i went over them all with a thin layer of glue for shine and while the glue was still wet i added the little numbers i cut from the lotto paper.  i ended up using 6 of my 7 papers too.  awesome, right?
i also used most of my trim.  i layered pink vellum medallions over the top trim punched with the jbs fiskars blue ribbon punch.  then i machine stitched over the green trim and hand stitched over the bottom trim.  love all the little details.

i thought the title turned out nicely too.  i was missing an "o" and i tried cutting one from patterned paper but they kept looking too distracting.  i finally used a c and an asterisk and perfection!  the little banner below is cut from kraft paper and edged with brown sugar ink.

thanks for stopping by!  i'm off to make another ms. pacman kit!  here's my first in case you missed it.  come share with us if you decide to play along too.  :)

  2. This is why you're awesome. I would never dare to use more than one of those houses on a layout. But yet, you used lots and made it work. Great layout!

Umm, just one thing missing... ;) (hint: it's green with a shell)
